Cheaper For Companies To Pay Fines For Polluting Our Rivers Than It Is To Fix The Leaks
SEASON 6 – EPISODE 6 – Cheaper For Companies To Pay Fines For Polluting Our Rivers Than It Is To Fix The Leaks
Last year water companies in the UK deliberately poured untreated raw sewage into our rivers seas, streams, lakes and tributaries over 400,000 times in a single year, and this isn’t 400,000 toilet flushes, this is 3.1 million hours of massive overflow pipes being deliberately opened to spew out billions and billions of gallons of raw sewage into our once beautiful rivers and seas.
They did this because it is cheaper to pay the fines than it is to fix the infrastructure to avoid it happening. This video explains why this is happening, what it means to you and why it won’t stop without public outrage.
