No Football On A Dead Planet – Corporate Greed Is Killing Earth
SEASON 4 – EPISODE 9 – No Football On A Dead Planet – Corporate Greed Is Killing Earth
If we can’t let corporate greed destroy sport, why is it OK to let it destroy the planet ? Is it really a choice between greed and football and is it really a choice between greed and green?
European football has increasingly become more unsporting over the last couple of decades in as much as there is so much money in it now, that the big business has taken over and big clubs can afford to buy the very best players. So much so, that the average monthly salary of a top flight player in the UK is around £240,000 per month compared with £39,000 per year for the average UK supporter.
So your average supporter would need to work for 6 years to earn just one months salary of the football player or 74 years to earn as much as the football player does in 1 year.
The average directors salary of a fortune 500 company is 115 times more than the average football supporter, surely this is enough??
