When it Comes to Actually Tackling Climate Breakdown – Talk is Cheap
SEASON 3 – EPISODE 6 – When it Comes to Actually Tackling Climate Breakdown – Talk is Cheap
Last week The United Nations published the details of a Global Climate Poll, the largest of it’s kind that questioned over 1.2 million people in in 50 countries and they found that 64 % of people asked believed that climate change was an emergency.
Overall, the most popular actions to tackle the climate crisis were protecting and restoring forests, followed by renewable energy and climate-friendly farming. The promotion of plant-based diets was the least popular of the 18 policies in the survey, with only 30% support.
What that tells us is that whilst 64 % of people surveyed think that climate breakdown is a global emergency 70 % of them want somebody else to deal with it.
